requests the attendance of

The Rev. Fr. Michael Pascall [handwritten]

AT A CEREMONY

at which Presentations will be made in respect of

NATIONAL AWARDS

on the occasion of the 9th Anniversary of the Independence of Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday, 31st August, 1971, at 3.00 p.m. at Governor-General's House.

GUESTS ARE REQUIRED TO TAKE THEIR SEATS BY 2.45 P.M.

ADMISSION ONLY ON PRESENTATION OF THIS INVITATION

A reply is requested to the Aide-de-Camp, Governor-General's Office, St. Ann's.

[Note] This is the invitation to the ceremony at which Fr. Pascall received the Hummingbird Medal (Silver) for community service — the medal whose story runs through this archive (see A30, THE BOMB's account of the awards, and A61, the presentation photograph earlier in this album). 31 August 1971 was indeed a Tuesday, as the card states. The card survives folded and foxed; this copy is cropped tight to the card and the paper evened, with the foxing left as it is.
